let us walk with perseverance the journey marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Yeshua

Another day of existence.
Or another day of making a difference?

Your choice.

A lot of self help books talk about setting goals.
And doing something towards those goals every day.
No matter how small it is, do something.
If you’re on a journey of 1,000 miles, at least take one step today.
If that’s all you can take today, fine. But at least take one.
If you do that every day, eventually you will arrive at your goal.

Even if your average is only 100 steps. You’ll still get there.
It will just take 50 years.
But if you walked a mile a day, it will only take 3!
It takes about 15 minutes to walk a mile.
But 100 steps only takes a bit over a minute.
One minute a day. You could do that, right?

The problem is most of us don’t even take the 100 steps. ☹️

So, how long you been a Christian?
How long you had the opportunity every day to make a difference to the world we’re in?
What have you done? Anything?
Have you at least taken the 100 steps a day? One minute out of every day “sacrificed” to make some kind of difference in the world?

Trouble is, most of us haven’t.
We read verses like Galatians 6, “Let’s not lose heart in doing better, for in our own time, if we don’t give up, we will reap.”
And then we read something like this and we feel guilty, and realise we need to change.
So we decide to start running a mile every day.
And off we go. (But we haven’t even been walking 100 steps… )
So it will last a couple of days, and we’ll be so sore we’ll stop.

So, do change. Now.
But do it slowly. Get your body used to the 100 steps first. Then 200. Work your way up.
You want this to last the rest of your life.
So for the next month. Commit to doing something to make a difference every day.
Write down what it was, every day. But keep it small for the first month.

I deliberately tweaked the quote on the side from Hebrews 12. Not to distort the Bible, but to make a point.
You can still achieve a lot, even if you just walk a little every day. Even if you never run.
Make your life count for something.
Your whole life, not just the next 3 days.

Stop just existing, and make a difference, every day.
