So, Genesis, Creation.
Almost 6,000 years ago if you join the dots between all those genealogies in the Bible.
What kind of tree is that? What happens if you eat the fruit?

Noah’s ark, and the global flood. 4,000 years ago.
What’s that rainbow about?

The Tower of Babel. Where all our languages came from. 150 years after the flood.
What were they trying to do?
Are we still trying to do that?
Is google translate going to undo what God did back then?

Is that Abraham offering something on an altar 300 years later?
What have those stars got to do with it?
We can count these, but how many are there really?

And who’s that wearing another rainbow? (200 years later, 3,700 years ago).
Why was Joseph so important to the Bible story?
So many times his story looked like it was going badly, but it ended up amazingly good.
Is your life like that? Does God have your life under control too?

Now the two clay tablets. (1450BC). The Ten Commandments.
You keeping those? Yeah me neither.
I think that was the point, to prove we need Yeshua to save us because we just can’t do it ourselves.
Why did they put a snake on a pole?

Then we have a period with the judges leading Israel.
And suddenly a king. Chosen by the people. (In 1050BC)
Closely followed by another king. Chosen by God! (40 years later).
Why didn’t they wait for that one? How did that go for them?

And prophets, maybe without the megaphone, but announcing messages directly from Yahweh.
How cool would that be! Have you ever had one?
And one of those messages was “You’re all going to be taken captive”.
How did they prove it was from Yahweh?
How did the people suddenly realise it was from Yahweh?
(Yeah, it happened).

Baby in a crib, star in the sky. That’s an easy one eh.
And that was when he was born just over 2,000 years ago.

And then he’s preaching.
What’s the dove got to do with it?
You ever seen the Holy Spirit doing anything?
It’s incredible.

One of the most famous times - he fed more than 5,000 people, (that was just how many men there were), with just a few loaves of bread and some fish.

Then in AD 30 Yeshua had a farewell meal with his closest followers.
Why did they have bread and wine? Does that have any meaning?
And then the day after he was hung up like a criminal, and died.

What happened 3 days later was so amazing his followers ran flat out to see if it was really true.
It was. People still struggle to believe it now.
This wasn’t CPR, or even zapped with paddles.
His dead body was consumed somehow and he had a new body which was somehow the same, but somehow different.

The guys who realised what this meant - that Yeshua really is the son of Yahweh, and his death paid the debt we have to Yahweh for all the things we’ve ever done wrong. That’s massive.
These guys went around telling everyone how massive this really is, and some of them wrote it down so we can know too.

And finally not just our debt to Yahweh is cancelled, but the whole damaged and corrupted world will be made again, this time without any sin in it ever.
It will be perfect again, like it was in the beginning, but also somehow even better.
When will that be?

Well, we don’t really know for sure. My guess is 3030. Just over a thousand years from now.
I think Yeshua will return in 2030, and then rule from Israel for a thousand years.
I could be wrong. But seriously, even if I am. It will still happen sometime, and better to be waiting but wrong about the year, than not waiting and not even invited when it happens.
