You sinned.
Again.
You’ve fallen on your face, again.
You’re still alive. And depending on how bad your sin was, or how many times this is you’ve fallen, possibly wishing you weren’t.
But you are still alive. So Yahweh is giving you another chance.
So get up.
And try again.
All you have to do is get up the same number of times you fall down, and you’re doing well.
Even if you fall down every day. Get up again.
There is a cool verse in Lamentations 3 that says Yahweh’s compassions are new every morning.
Every day is a clean start.
As a Christian your sin is totally forgiven. Honestly, when you finally get to see Yahweh face to face, he will literally not remember a single sin you ever did. Not one. Yeshua took them all. All. They’re gone. You can’t get them back even if you wanted to.
Yeshua willingly took the blame for every single one of them, and then paid the penalty to Yahweh for each one.
Yahweh’s anger about your sin is totally satisfied. They are totally paid for. And because of that, Yahweh will not remember them ever again.
That’s not an excuse to indulge your sin, it’s an encouragement to not give up trying to stop doing them.
So every day when you wake up, remember that your slate is clean.
Be encouraged by that. Be encouraged to do better today.
As of this morning you’re sinless again.
And if you fall today, then get up again and try again tomorrow.
(Btw you can’t stop. But give the Holy Spirit permission to stop you, and he can. But that’s another article)
Just like the father ran to the prodigal son to welcome him back.
Knowing that he had turned his back on the family. Knowing that he had been living a sinful life, wasting the father’s freely given wealth. Knowing all that, he ran to him. He didn’t wait for the son to get to him. He ran to show the son how much he loved him. How much he had missed him. How much he wanted him back home.
No judgement, just celebration.
This is Yahweh’s attitude towards you every time you sin and fall on your face.
As soon as he sees you trying to get up again, he will run to you, arms wide, ready to give you the welcome home hug.
It’s a new day. A clean start. And so far you haven’t fallen over all day.
Don’t give up.Get up.
